Database Administrator (For a Leading Global Insurance Provider)

Job Descriptions

  • Collaborates on the initial installation and configuration of a new database. As updates and patches are required, the DBA handles this on-going maintenance.
  • Coordinate and manage database activities to support application development projects.
  • Known as ETL Tools (SSIS), data extraction, transformation, and loading refer to efficiently importing large volumes of data that have been extracted from multiple systems into a Data Warehouse environment.
  • Report development and enhancement using reporting tools such as (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau)
  • DBAs create backup and recovery plans and procedures based on industry best practices, then make sure that the necessary steps are followed.
  • Monitoring for performance issues is part of the on-going system maintenance a DBA performs.
  • Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
  • Provide functional and technical support to ensure performance, operation and stability of database systems.
  • DBAs are on call for troubleshooting in case of any problems. A DBA needs to quickly understand and respond to problems when they occur.
  • Prepare documentations of all database procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide high level support to business users on a daily basis.
  • Assist in implementation, testing, and validating data and software systems.
  • Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis.
  • Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
  • Audit data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with MS SQL Database.
  • Hands-on Experience in Database backup, recovery, security, integrity, server management and performance report.
  • Good knowledge about writing database queries, database Procedures.
  • Possess a sound understanding of the business and communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators, and other related service providers.
  • Problem solving skills and ability for systematic and critical thinking.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill.

Other information

  • Salary: MMK 1,300,000 ~ 2,000,000
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday ( 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
  • Off Days: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
  • Working Location: Downtown, Yangon.
