Collection Manager / Senior Collection Officer(For a Foreign Microfinance Company)

Job Descriptions

  • Reporting to the Head of Credit Risks Management and be responsible for setting up a late paying clients collection unit.
  • Ability to analyze late paying clients’ reasons and problems then produce solid and effective repayment plans including ability to effectively negotiate with clients.
  • Establish and maintain communication with late paying clients and/or Company’s credit officers; understand their needs, resolve issues, and meet expectations.
  • Understanding the Company’s unique lending strategy and operational procedures to
    ensure proper work alignment of the late payment collection process with company’s policies and be compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Investigate and handle all escalated collection issues and complaints in a timely manner and immediately report all critical issues and complaints to Management.
  • Oversee collection notification process to ensure the legal process is followed.
  • Support the credit and accounting teams on any litigation process by coordinating with external lawyers.
  • Set measurable collection strategies in order to reach the Company’s monthly target and ensure continuous improvement of the recovery rate.
  • Optimize late repayment collection costs and resources of the company based on
    performance and daily productivity.
  • Forecast future late repayment collections and set clear actionable collection budget.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on late payment collection performance and
    productivity.
  • Evaluate and quantify probable collection or recovery amounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance or mathematics.
  • At least 5 years experience in retail lending and late repayment collection.
  • Knowledgeable of collections process.
  • Proven track record of building a successful team.
  • Good negotiations skills.
  • Good decision-making and analytical skills, able to work under pressure and be a good team player.
  • Fluent communication in English and Burmese.
  • Proficient knowledge of business software; excel, power BI, Access, etc.
  • Working experience in NBFI is an advantage.

Other information

  • Salary: MMK 1,000,000 to 1,500,000
  • Working days: 5 days a week (8:00 AM  – 5:00 PM /9:30 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • Off days: 2 days a week & Public Holidays
  • Working Location: Sanchaung Township: Yangon
